Happy Holidaze, y’all

You know that guy in high school that you and your friends obsessed over then totally lost track of until randomly running into him at some embarrassing chain restaurant in your hometown where you gingerly avoided learning what he was up to because just his presence alone suggested nothing good/depressed you?
Here’s Aaron Carter.

Oh, girl.

Oh, girl.

Disney, weren’t you supposed to take care of these people?

In another world, he coulda had class, he coulda been a contender, he coulda at least had a throw-away role on Friday Night Lights for a season or two.

Instead, he quietly acceded to a life of co-starring in unwanted sequels with reality TV stars and saying yes to way too many made-for-tv movies — but not before making some Disney Channel original movies and starring in a Lifetime film with Delta Burke (it’s called Dangerous Child - watch it, love it, laugh and laugh and laugh at the underlying message that rap music turns lame white kids into violent, dangerous children and then watch it again) (rinse and repeat, forever).

Recently, he acted in Pretty Little Liars as a “charming but sinister character that everyone loves to hate” that SPOILER ALERT almost certainly didn’t kill whatever pretty little dead girl that show revolves around. Currently, he’s playing an older Disney Channel star trying to get verified on Twitter. Despite his overuse of the word “tweeps,” there’s something so wonderfully earnest about his Twitter feed and its Google translated Portuguese shout outs to his Brazilian followers, promotional tweets for movies that we’ll never see or hear about and his never-ending quest for more followers. And SPOILER ALERT, I am now following it.

Anyway, does anyone know where I can find a good bootleg of The Luck of the Irish?

I’m not saying TNT doesn’t count, but…

He was Phil, Phil, Phil of the Future and now he’s just Raviv “Ricky” Ullman from some random band.
Okay, maybe he was never going to be much, but he was so charming, right? I mean I can’t confirm this, but I think Ricky (Phil) smiled at the camera and gave a big thumps up like once per episode. I’m sure there are .gifs somewhere.
Ricky, you were every 12-year-old girl/gay’s first Jewish crush for those who didn’t grow up with Seth Cohen. Mazel tov! (And check out his band on MySpace!)
